I’ve read the memoirs/narrative nonfictions listed below and loved them — hoping to get some suggestions for memoirs with similar vibes!
– The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls.
– Freckled by TW Neal.
– Educated by Tara Westover.
– North of Normal by Cea Sunrise Person.
– The Sound of Gravel by Ruth Wariner.
– If You Tell by Gregg Olsen.
I’m not big into celebrity memoirs, but I read Jennette McCurdy’s book “I’m Glad My Mom Died” and enjoyed it!
TIA!

*Finding Me* by Viola Davis is another non-typical celebrity memoir. It is not Hollywood gossip and name-dropping but a truly impressive story about what she overcame to get to where she is today. I highly recommend the audiobook.
I’m not entirely sure if it is the vibe you are looking for but if the vibe is overcoming a dysfunctional upbringing and/or constant threat from societal violence, then yes.
In my skin by Kate Holden. I recommend the audiobook. Lovely author. It details her life as an up and coming heroin addict and how she overcame her addiction.
