    Hello!

I normally read nonfiction but have been wanting to branch out more into fiction and am not entirely sure where to start. I really dig history and am wanting to read a realistic, well-researched, and immersive historical fiction book. As for what period of history or the specific topic, I am open to just about anything. To narrow it down a little though, I am less partial to US history (just after learning about it all my life, I want to learn about other parts of history) although still open to it. I tend to prefer reading and learning about more “everyday” kind of people rather than kings/queens/rulers… although still open to those kinds of books too. And I’ve been digging medieval history especially lately.

I know this is somewhat vague but I’m interested in a very wide variety of suggestions and as long as it’s realistic historic fiction I am willing to check it out! Thanks in advance.

Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet by David Mitchell or the River of Smoke by Amitav Gosh, they deal with similar themes, and the same time period, but different countries, also the former is more if you feel like reading something that has a lot of unexpected elements (like adventure and fantasy, altough nothing really supernatural happens and the book is exceptionally time period accurate, but there is a really eerie part of the book with strange things going on), and the latter is a more conventional realist historical fiction
