So… I'm a literature student. I'm fairly well-versed in social sciences specifically critical theory, for a Bachelor's level student. But I'm not too good at the hard sciences. I mean yeah I studied them in school but school was depressing and I couldn't study as I'd have liked to.

So I want easy to access books on physics, biology and math. But any popular science books are welcome.

And for biology I'm specifically interested in evolution.

    1. To learn from like text books or more entertaining? Neil deGrasse Tyson has written some books that I thought were easy to read. Not a book recommendation but the Green brothers’ YouTube channel called Crash Course has great videos that are educational and easy to follow for many topics.

    2. Mary Roach has written several fun and interesting books. You might like Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void.

Particle at the End of the Universe by Sean Carrol. It’s about the Higgs Boson. Great read

    4. The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins – not necessarily an easy read. But you said you are interested in Evolution. I read this book when I did my undergrad in Biology. It gave me a really great understanding of how these fundamental mechanisms actually play out.

And yes, this book created a huge debate among scientists when it came out
And yes, I find Richard Dawkins a little too militant at times

Also make sure to catch up on all of the other more recent discoveries in evolutionary science as this book is from the 80ies
