For one, I’m a fast reader. I tend to read lengthy books to the point where I’m used to reading with more speed than you would apply to poetry. I find it difficult to slow down and really take in the words.
I also am not quite sure where to begin when it comes to analysing poetry. The meaning? The arrangement on lines? The title? Each meticulously placed word? Themes? There seems to be quite a lot going on, and yet, I’m not sure why I struggle when I love analysing fictional stories.
