I love “The Summer Book” by Tove Jansson or “The Guest Cat” by Takashi Hirade for the beautiful, serene descriptions of landscapes or the magic of the moment.
Both are “quiet” books where there isn’t a huge evolution in plot. The books feel like a meditation on life, and to focus on the joy and stillness of the moment.
If there’s anything similar to these, I’d love the recommendation!

Anything by Mary Oliver, if you are open to poetry—I recently listened to her audiobook of Dog Songs and A Thousand Mornings and then immediately ordered paper copies so I could flag practically every page.
If you’re into serene, reflective reads, you might enjoy the *Mer Chronicles* trilogy (*Updrift, Breakwater & Outrush*) by Errin Stevens. While it has a bit more fantasy, the coastal setting and the quiet moments between characters really capture the beauty of everyday life. It’s got that calm, meditative vibe but with an intriguing twist!
