I'd like to read more classics. I loved Frankenstein. I started Watership Down, but I gave up after about 70 pages due to the endless descriptions of the landscape and geography.

I dont care reading over and over about which direction the wind is blowing from, whether a tree is in the east or south, whether it is an oak tree or I don't know what kind of tree it is.

So.. I would like to read The Hobbit, but I'm afraid that this is typically a book where nature, landscape and buildings are described a lot. Is this correct or is it not so bad?

I am also interested in Rebecca, Wuthering Heights, Dracula, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Hound of the Baskervilles, Strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Alice in Wonderland, A Christmas Carol.

Are there any books here that I should avoid and do you have any tips for exciting classics that are quick to read?
