I just finished listening to I’m glad my mom died by Jennette McCurdy. I have recently started reading and I loved how easy to read Jennette’s memoir was. I’m looking to start another audiobook and want some suggestions of easy to read/listen to memoirs. It doesn’t have to be about such a heavy topic.

    1. I’ve never listened to it, but I loved reading Tender at the Bone by Ruth Reichl. She’s a food writer and her memoir is mixed in with recipes– she also had a weird relationship with her mother (though not as heavy as Jeannette’s).

    2. Educated by Tara Westover. Very similar to “I’m glad my mom died” in that it the author is an adult looking back on her messed up childhood with the perspective of an adult. It was in my top 5 the year I read it.

I liked Amy Phoeler’s memoir, *Yes Please*. And Anna Schechtman’s *The Riddles of the Sphinx*, which is a strange mix between a history book and a memoir, describing her struggles with eating disorders and how she got into creating crossword puzzles. I liked it a lot.

Kathleen Hanna’s book *Rebel Girl* is more similar to *I’m Glad My Mom Died*.
