Hi! I've been trying to do some research and get both visual and literary inspiration along the lines of the title, 'soft' to mean more like, gradual or long-term, as in the bombs dropped ages ago and all the cannibalism's gone out of style. Don't worry about what I have or haven't read! Part of this question for me is to also find out what this subreddit thinks is popular or on-theme, and the more detailed a recommendation the cooler I'll think you are.

For a bit of context which is totally unnecessary to my little request but might help, I've started a little side project and am trying to storyboard! I've been looking at more modern stuff since part of what I'd like to draw from is nonfiction, or at least a more 'hard' scifi take. Chernobyl from the 90s through to the aughts was kind of the poster for me in this one, but some of the photo books and monographs are hard to source because of my geographical location, so I thought I'd branch out but I don't know where to start since this is waaayyy out of my comfort zone.

    Thank you!
