Early planning for Christmas gifts and considering gifting my bookworn 13 yo cousin a bunch of books, would've loved someone to do this for me at her age, but I'm kind of stumped on what would be appropriate. At her age i was already reading adult-ish fiction but it might not bode well with the parents lol
- She's an avid and fast reader, so length is not really an issue
- Already read all the book series popular for middle grade (i.e., Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Percy Jackson, etc.)
- She enjoys sci-fi and high fantasy
- Looking for something challenging for her, so I'd avoid YA and the like, but I'm not totally opposed to it if the writing is good
