    Hi all,

I’ve read Natalie Y. Moore’s “The South Side: A Portrait of Chicago and American Segregation” and the author dives deep into topics like education policies, racism, redlining, etc regarding South Side Chicago, and celebrating the south side of Chicago.

Early on in the book, the author states, “Even though Chicago’s black West Side wrestles with similar issues, I focus here only on the South Side. This is also a story of Northern Racism.” This led me to want to read about West Side Chicago. Does anyone have any recommendations for a deep dive into information of West Side Chicago? If not, I could crosspost to r/askchicago too. Thanks!

Not quite the deep dive you’re looking for, but *The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration* by Isabel Wilkerson follows three Black internal migrants, one of whom moves to Chicago.
