I'm interested to read some books written by the people who are professionally related to the plot real life. Like the author being a profiler, criminologist, psychologist, doctor ect. Not educational books. Fiction with some realness or truth in them I guess

John Grisham- Prisoner at Birth
This would be my recommendation. A part of the story is set in prison. And the writer has been incarcinated yes.
He kept a diary while in prison, which birthed another trilogy: the prison diaries.
Kathy Reichs is a forensic anthropologist. Her Temperance Brennan book series is kind of based on her life experiences.
Abraham Verghese is a trained physician and Professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine. His *Cutting For Stone* and *Covenant of Water* draw on and incorporate his medical knowledge.
Alastair Reynolds is an astrophysicist who writes Space Opera
