Ideally some kind of psychological thriller but ultimately genre doesn't matter at all. I don't have a dislike for any genre as long as the book is fictional.
By fully realized I mean characters who are given the proper time, given their arc, and by the end are excellently written, complete, three dimensional characters. Characters that could've been the main character of their own book. Most books have their 1 or 2 focal characters and everyone else plays mostly a supporting role with maybe a deeper scene here or there, so I'm looking for a book that does a little more.
No book series please (or if you must, there should be multiple realized characters in the first book). I know that it's possible to have 50 perfectly written characters in a super long book series, but that defeats the purpose of my question.
