Hello, hello!!
You are my last resort because I can't find ANYTHING I like.
I'm looking for some romances to read, but I'm pretty picky. I don't like overly cliché novels with a #notlikeothergirls protagonist, but I still want a book where the romance makes me dream a little, and that is fairly contemporary (for example, classic ones like Anna Karenina aren’t what I’m after in this post). I want something that focuses on the challenges of being in a relationship, with its difficulties and compromises (something realistic, you know), where the story isn’t just about the protagonists getting together, but follows them afterwards as well.
For example I've read From the Embers by Aly Martinez: like the "overcoming trauma together and seeing each other in good and bad situations" part, but a very cliché story with not that deep characters
Do you have any suggestions? I feel like my request is complicated, but surely other people must be in the same situation as me, right?
