Like the title suggests what are your favorite tropes or occurrences in books? Truthfully, I’ll accept anything because I fully believe that books, much like food and media can have a ‘junk food’ equivalent which are not as good but just hit the right spot sometimes yk? Like sharwarma and Fanta as opposed to what your mom made at home. Both good, even though one is less quality than the other.
I digress though, what are your favorites?

My favourite trope is an unhinged, often unreliable, female main character. Sometimes she’s hell-bent on revenge, sometimes she’s more into self-destruction, sometimes she’s just wandering aimlessly. I don’t care about the plot, I want it to be character driven. The more unhinged the better.
you know *something* is off/not right, but you can’t quite put your finger on exactly what the fuck is going on.
or even better, it’s obvious as hell that fuckery is afoot, but nobody in the book except maybe ONE person notices.
