Good evening! Looking for a culinary cozy book for the holidays that involves savory dishes instead of baking? I seem to only see ones that are about sweets and desserts. I would even like a cookbook that sort of reads like a novel or has good stories with the recipes. I've been reading alot of thrillers and need something to quiet my mind when reading late at night! Thank you in advance!

    1. I don’t know whether this will suit you, but I loved The Kamogawa Food Detectives, by Hisashi Kashiwai, which is Japanese fiction in translation. It’s about a service that offers to find the dishes you remember eating long ago that have somehow disappeared. It’s wonderful bedtime reading, calming but not saccharine.

    2. The Bruno Cheif of police series by Martin Walker. They are kinda cruddy mysteries but decent books if that makes sense, and have lots of scenes talking about food or preparing food. Not quite a cook book but very foodie. It’s set in the Périgord so lots of rich French food.
That being said the mysteries tend to fall to wayside in favor of drama and cooking. And I’m pretty sure Bruno would never manage to actually get a conviction. They are cozy though and I have read/listened to all 17 so far
