I am looking for a book or series similar to Ubsub by Meg Gardiner or the Karin Slaughter series, but with a detective or criminalist who has abilities (either magical or mental).
I liked Nicole Scarano's Forensics of a Fable or Nonmagic The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes had the feel of what I was looking for.

Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
Be warned it’s more noir fantasy than anything and Harry(our protagonist) is definetly ur stereotypical private eye with everything that entails.
That being said it’s my go to for pleasure.
Sidenote: the Audiobooks are widely regarded as the best Narrator/Author pairing in fiction
