Gave Up on Filterworld By Kyle Chayka Halfway Through

I was hoping to get all the way through, since I’d seen Chayka on a couple of music YouTube channels being interviewed, but I found the book much to defeatist about the state of culture to finish. So many of his observations failed to provide any meaningful solutions, and instead felt resigned to just comment on culture elements he felt were detrimental. It felt very pedestrian in a lot of ways, unfortunately.

Maybe the back half had more solutions, but what I read was becoming a chore of wondering what he was going to complain about next.
