My AvPD is eating me alive and I’m depressed about it and whatnot. Do y’all know of any good stories that focus on social anxiety, loneliness, and isolation? Anything with a Dostoevsky vibe, as a bonus? I love White Nights and Notes from Underground. It doesn’t have to be a classic, though. Anything goes. I’ve read pretty much everything by Dazai Osamu but I never click with his protags. Hermann Hesse’s good but he always loses me toward the end 😅 I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, ok.
Frankenstein and Crime & Punishment are two of my favorite books. I haven’t had any luck finding any other stories that scratch my itch like these but I’m also not very good at research 😛
