I love reading in verse, and I am currently looking for more works of this type to read (currently reading the Iliad and the Song of Roland). I would like to know if there are currently any other works of this type available epic poems or epic poems that are worth reading. What do you recommend?

You could look into some of Tolkien’s Legendarium. The Silmarillion isn’t verse, but it’s definitely inspired by epics.
Others that come to mind, though not modern per se:
– Beowulf (Anglo-Saxon)
– The Kalevala (Finnish)
