I am writing a book about a super manufactured popstar who struggles with her own identity and the fact that she doesn’t even know who she is anymore, because she is so incredibly manufactured in terms of appearance, public image etc. The story is about her finding her real self and coming to terms with who she really is, eventually leaving Hollywood. Are there any books with similair themes? I would love to read them for inspiration.

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch is exactly this. But it is a sci-fi thriller, so I don’t know if that’s something you’d be interested in. But it is a great, fast-paced book.
