I just saw that the Center for Fiction released their First Novel Prize Shortlist for 2024.
I have read and loved a couple of books on the longlist (Anyone's Ghost and Ways and Means), but none of those books made the shortlist.
Which book from the shortlist should I read first?
The choices are:
-Headshot by Rita Bullwinkel
-The Fertile Earth by Ruthvika Rao
-They Dream in Gold by Mai Sennaar
-Ask Me Again by Clare Sestanovich
-Fire Exit by Morgan Talty
-God Bless You, Otis Spunkmeyer by Joseph Earl Thomas
-Misinterpretation by Ledia Xhoga

They dream of gold has an interesting title. That is my vote.
