i know questions like this are here every day and i often read them but the suggestions are never to my liking
I would like a scary book but i find most of the typical horror books not scary at all – house of leaves, Salem's lot, shining, etc
Probably the only book that actually scared me was Haunting of the Hill House and maybe Carrie and I think it was because you couldn't decide if it was paranormal or just main character going crazy so it was kinda realistic but also mysterius lol. I found that once the book explains what is going on or demasks the monster I am no longer scared and just cringe. Can you recommend something similar? please and thank you
