Hello. I purchased two versions of The Wizard Of Oz books recently, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and The Wizard of Oz. Which of these two do I read first? It seems the former was released first out of 14, but I didn’t see the latter mentioned in the list of 14. Im confused on which to read. They’re both by Baum. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.
(I can’t send a photo btw)

Also, the former seems like it’s Barnes n Nobles Classics. The latter is Puffin Classics.
It’s seems like you’d want the one written first. Not sure what the other books is exactly, maybe a rerelease or edited version more tied to the movie (?).
The original book differs a bit from the movie. The political motivations were a bit clearer while the movie changed things to add emphasis to the colorful aspects of being an early color film.
Some online bookstores suggest they are the same book just retitled during reprints. If you have both you can spot check that easily enough.
The text should be identical. The original title was *The Wonderful Wizard of Oz* but the shorter title was used for the stage play that debuted in 1902, and was used for the book sometimes afterward as a tie-in.
