Hi Reddit! My dad is undergoing a relatively major surgery in a couple weeks. He loves to read and I want to pick him up a few books he can read while he recovers. Some of his favorites in the last year have been Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver, All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker, and The River We Remember by William Kent Kruger. Any ideas?

I recommend looking at a few authors such as Ward Larsen and Charles Martin. These are authors who write sensible fiction and have great writing styles and stories to satisfy almost any guy.
Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead,
James by Percival Everett,
Wild pork and watercress by Barry crump,
