    Hi everyone,

I'm a conservationist with a few years of experience in the UK, currently in between roles and applying for new opportunities. During this transition period, I'm eager to deepen my understanding of conservation, both practically and theoretically. I'd like to make the most of this time by reading and learning more about species identification, survey methodologies, habitat management, and any relevant case studies that have shaped conservation practices.

I'm particularly interested in books that cover real-world applications and provide insights into the challenges and successes of conservation efforts, especially if they offer lessons that can be applied on the ground. Whether it’s an inspiring memoir, an in-depth ecological study, or a practical guide, I’d love to hear about the books that have had a significant impact on your work or shaped your perspective as a conservationist.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions—I appreciate your time and look forward to adding some valuable reads to my list!

If you don’t find what you need here, I would see if you can find a university librarian that can help you, or go online and find class syllabus examples from major universities.

Some fiction with these themes, island of missing trees by Elif shafak, migrations by Charlotte McConaghy
