ISO Something Modern

So my whole life I’ve always been drawn to the classics. I have always said they’re my favorite, and that’s true. My favorite author is William Faulkner (The Sound and the Fury is my all time favorite novel). I’m a big fan of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, as well as HP Lovecraft/Poe. I enjoyed Michael Crichton when I was in school, but at this point I’ve pretty much read all of his work. The most recent “new” book I’ve read is Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata.

My issue is that I just keep reading the same stuff, and last I checked Faulkner doesn’t have anything new coming any time soon (maybe a zombie apocalypse could change that). I just want something new. Thematically it can be similar to what I’ve listed, I just want to find something written in the last 10-15 years.
