Not sure if this sounds weird. What I’m thinking of is that the author has created their own world (not necessarily fantasy/dystopian, could even just be their version of our world) and written multiple books, all different stories, taking place in that world. Maybe each book is a different slice of life in that world. The only thing I ever read that gave me this feeling was a romance trilogy when I was a teenager, where each book was a new romance but there were hints of characters from previous books knowing each other, or went to the same school etc. I’m open to any genre, as long as the setting/world is recognisable in each single book.
