There are some books imo that are better read as a paperback than a hard cover, digital, or audio. As if changing that aspect of it makes something fleeting yet impactful lesser.

For instance, the Stormlight archive for me is a hard cover read. Everything is so epic and great but there's nothing quick and dirty about it. When I put that book away, I want the cover to stay as pristine as possible because in a few years I want to return to them and experience the same thing all over again.

But most Sherlock Holmes stories? Now that's one book I can take on a train and just toss in a napsack and be on with my day. I can dip in and out of the world at any time. And when I'm done I'm unlikely to return and that's ok. Plenty of Stephen King's books fall into this category (mainly the ones that scare me and I need to toss it away without damaging the wall. I'm looking at you It). Also is it weird I put those warrior cat books in the same category when I was younger?

I'd love to hear your suggestions!
