I was so excited to read this given its high praise, but man I was struggling to finish this one. My wife actually had to encourage me to muster through the last 75 pages lol. Maybe it’s my attention span, but I need some sort of plot or story to stay engaged with the book. I just thought the book revolved around the Count meeting a bunch of strangers in a hotel…that’s it. Ending seemed rather predictable too.
I had some support here for not enjoying All The Light We Cannot See, which also got very high praise. But I’m not so sure I’ll get the same support since I see nothing but amazing things about AGIM. It’s been hit or miss recently with historical fiction. On to the next one I suppose!
