For context, I recently started reading books again and have read different genres in the past months. I'm still exploring to know what books I'm more drawn to. If it'll help in giving recommendations, these are my recent reads so far:

    Loved:

    • Crying in H Mart – I loved the writing style, the raw emotions, and really honest thoughts about grief.
    • Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 – This book made me feel so seen and question where I stand in life as a woman.
    • Sweet Bean Paste – Still my top favorite book, made me sob SO HARD. I love all the relatable references to existence.
    • The Shadow of the Wind – Hands down couldn't drop this book, everything was super intense! I was actually shocked I enjoyed reading gothic fiction/mystery.
    • The Bluest Eye – Maybe I read this at the wrong time. It was an eye-opener but quite depressing.

    Not really my thing:

    • Almond – While I adore the friendship of the two main characters, everything just felt predictable.
    • The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (Currently Reading) – I love the writing style, but the main character isn't likable and the storyline feels predictable too.

I noticed I'm into books that generally talk about life or something that would hit closer to a life of being a woman, but definitely open to more genres/storylines similar to The Shadow of the Wind. Thank you! ❤️
