Trying to get back into reading I enjoyed Harry Potter as a kid so maybe a better/adult version of that. I liked some apocalyptic fiction as well. I’ve tried to read some self improvement and business type books because that felt like a thing I was supposed to do but the ones I’ve tried felt like a slog. Open to most anything fire away with your favorites.

If you’re open to more middle grade fantasy, I recommend [Nevermoor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/6a6d5ca1-b2f5-47be-828c-018144d3bbc7) by Jessica Townsend! It’s my favorite series even as an adult, and the only one that makes me feel the way the Harry Potter books used to.

Or you can try reading [Holes](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/788d1226-c544-4959-9556-25c66fa79196) by Louis Sachar. That’s usually my go to book rec for people who want to get into reading, because it appeals to all ages, has really short chapters, and is super engaging.

Otherwise, maybe [Mistborn](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/fff4a412-89f6-46ad-b75e-bd21a626e730) by Brandon Sanderson?

    2. I say try: The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen
Is a trilogy. More of a “grown up” YA book

    3. if you’re trying to get back into reading fiction/fantasy I would suggest anything in Brandon Sanderson’s cosmere! its a collection of works (both series and standalones) that all take place in the same universe. A lot of people will recommend it with the caveat of a reading order/starting somewhere specific. personally, I think it doesn’t matter as long as you don’t start in the middle of a series, I would say look into it, and read what interests you most (if anything) !

*Tress of the Emerald Sea* is what got me back into reading after a long time. *Warbreaker* and *Yumi and the Nightmare Painter* were also so good! these books are pure escapism to me <3

I’d also like to say that the *Temeraire* series by Naomi Novik has my whole heart. no magic but if you love dragons and you’re down for historical fantasy this series BANGS!

I haven’t read this one myself yet, I will once I complete my current book. It was recommended by a well-read friend of mine – The Akata Witch series.
