Hello! I'm sorry if this specific question has been asked before – I did try searching but my situation hadn't been mentioned.

I would love some book recommendations that are very funny and easy to read, or horror. Anthology would be great. Please strictly no sadness particularly relating to animals.

I used to be an avid reader but due to to my OCD and autism I became fixated on needing to know what happened. I read The Green Mile in 2 days when I was 13 on summer break – hence me being open to anthology.

As a kid I liked Andy Griffiths books and also enjoyed Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging as a young adult.

The last book I read was Dark Places by Gillian Flynn and since I was an adult I could only read it outside of work hours and started going to work late. I do miss reading and would love to get back into it in my spare time but obviously require a balance with my mental health.

Please be kind, this is really tough for me to tell strangers. Thank you for any advice you might be able to offer 💜

    1. I’m currently reading “John dies at the end” and it’s the funniest horror book I’ve ever read. There is a scene where a gruesome monster is forming and the second MC is beating up tiny monsters using a fold up chair and making puns with every swing. It’s not a scary book but it does try for cosmic horror type creatures.
