I’m not sure what I expected this book to be, exactly, but I was fascinated by the Heaven’s Gate cult and thought a fictional account of what happened to them after their mass suicide IF they were right about being picked up by a spacecraft might be a fun read.

This book was not a fun read. It was a repetitive, meandering, repetitive, proselytizing, repetitive mess.

On The Road by Jack Kerouac, a book that can only be enjoyed by teenage boys, and to everyone else is self-indulgent, monotonous drivel.

    3. The Kite Runner. Can’t believe the love and acclaim that book gets. Nausea inducing nonsense.

Holy Cow by David Duchovny is my favorite terrible book gift to get for people. 😂 A few pages in you’re like “Boy they just let anyone into Yale back in the day”

Here are the worst books I’ve ever read and who would hate them most.

Pamela by Samuel Richardson. Give to anyone who believes women are individuals and should have even the most basic rights. Watch them writhe in pain at what the ‘ideal woman” is supposed to be.

The Book of Emma by Marie-Célie Agnant. Contains lots of triggers. Give to someone who hates anything overly emotional.

Tinsel by Kris Bryant Give to whoever loves cozy romances and kittens. Watch them twitch.

*I’m thinking of ending things* by Ian Reid. It was supposed to be horror, but I found it quite boring. It was hyped at one point for being very scary but I really didn’t get it. It did end unexpectedly which was surprising but personally that didn’t redeem the book.

    7. Hemingway – it was so boring I forgot the title. lol it’s set in Paris post WWI

I genuinely don’t know how you can make that setting boring but he managed to do it
