We are still without power and water after suffering devastation in Asheville from hurricane Helene. I have a surprising amount of cleaning to do because everything is so inefficient so I have been loving listening to audiobooks that I'm able to download when I go into town to catch a Wi-Fi hotspot for a bit!

I've flown thru everything David Sedaris…loved Remarkably Bright Creatures, a couple of Sally Hepworth twisty ones, The Rachel Incident, All Fours. And while not exactly "light" I also really enjoyed God of the Woods, Go As A River, The Silent Patient. I'm open to more traditional "beach read" novels too, but I don't want them to be totally vapid as I am, in a strange way, trying to make the most of this unexpected downtime.

Open to any and all suggestions (although TBH fantasy/sci fi is not my thing) on what you have LOVED lately that isn't too heavy or hard to follow if not 100% focused. My mental energy is drained but I'm still enjoying listening to good books to bring light and levity to this terrible situation! Thanks in advance!
