Here are a few based on some of the ones you’ve listed.

      1. The Three Musketeers, by Dumas, or Les Miserables, by Victor Hugo.

      2. Passing, by Nella Larsen.

      9. Song of Achilles, by Madeleine Miller.

    2. Phenomenal top ten, by the way. You have two of my all-timers on there.

I’d recommend *Homegoing* by Yaa Gyasi, an epic spanning generations of descendants from two Ghanian half-sisters, one side slave, one side free. It seems you like books set in the past, ones that span long lengths of time, like Circe, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and Anne of Green Gables, and ones that discuss issues of race, class, or gender. I think you’d really connect with and be moved by this. It’s very compelling (I flew through it), but also provokes deep though and has brilliant writing.
