I don't mean anything misogynistic from the title. I'm not a smut person and I've unfortunately have had bad luck with many romance book recommendations. But I loved Meg's "traditional"/wholesome romance in Little Women and I'm looking for more romance like it. I'll list out what I liked about this romance, and I hope you can recommend something similar!

    • I'd like a female protagonist, or a very sweet male protagonist
    • I'd like the female love interest to be feminine, but not in a helpless damsel in distress way
    • I love to see couples in fiction navigate getting married, having children, growing up, etc., and I especially love extremely supportive men during pregnancy/raising children
    • Sex scenes are okay, but the more asexual the story is (except in the case of pregnancy) the better
    • The male love interest should be a sweetheart instead of an "alpha male" type
    • It's fine if it's lesbian
    • It's fine if it's classic and/or children's literature (I love children's literature)
    • Think Disney/Studio Ghibli

    Thank you!

Apart from the first one I’m not sure I’d call them romances as such but they do fit into your general parameters.

      Cotillion – Georgette Heyer

Diary of a Provincial Lady – EM Delafield

Mrs Tim of the Regiment – DE Stevenson

Mrs ‘Arris goes to Paris – Paul Gallico

    2. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Little Men by Louisa May Alcott, The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery, and The Secret Countess by Eva Ibbots. If any of these sound like your kind of read, feel free to message me for the link to buy! I’m Jeremy, a disabled Army veteran with young onset Parkinson’s by the way.
