I am and avid sci fi/fantasy enjoyer, I listen to audio books because ADHD makes it extremely difficult to sit down and read.
This year, I listened to the red rising series, and just finished re-listening to the wheel of time series. Coming off of such amazing books I'm fearful to listen to anything else, and I'm thinking that I should probably stick to music or podcasts for a bit, but if yall have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
I am a big fan of Brandon sanderson, and have listened to stormlight archive, both eras of mistborn, elantris, and his superhero series whose name I can't remember (arguably the best imo). I really enjoyed name of the wind by Patrick Rothfuss, dragon weather by Lawrence Watt-Evans, and the Licanius trilogy by James Islington.
I think I'm looking for something a little like dragon weather or the licanius trilogy. Something that is different enough that I won't compare it to either of the incredible series I've listened to this year. Sci fi or fantasy, either one. Please help fill the void😭

The Expanse – scifi series about humanity dealing with an alien threat and also solar system politics. Very, very, very good.
9 main novels as well as a bunch of short stories/novellas in between. Not sure if the novellas are in audiobook form, but the main novels as audiobooks are highly recommended on the r/TheExpanse sub. (I’ve never listened personally)
