Hello! I'm reading Light from Uncommon Stars and it makes me feel so good I'm already sad for it to end. This is my first time reading queer/trans science fiction and I didn't expect it to be so comforting, lighthearted and funny while being gripping. It deals with serious issues but never in a heavy way and doesn't make you depressed. I also like that it's about the Asian community in Southern California, it's mostly sapphic (women loving women) and trans! If you have any recommendations for books like these, I would appreciate them.

*This is How You Lose The Time War* by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone is a sapphic sci-fi epistolary novella with the same kind of “there are stakes and drama but also it’s kinda cozy” feel as *Light from Uncommon Stars*. If I’m being honest I was personally meh on it, but it’s been super well recieved and in any case it’s a one-sitting read.
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir is a closed circle murder mystery involving lesbian necromancers in space
Loved this book. You might also like The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers (and almost everything else by Becky Chambers)
Small Miracles by Olivia Atwater
Also I’ve only just started it so I can’t be 100% sure but maybe also Floating Hotel by Grace Curtis
