Stunningly written. I think about it at least once a month. * [*Men Explain Things to Me*](http://rebeccasolnit.net/book/men-explain-things-to-me/) by Rebecca Solnit — Solnit is an incredible writer who can be funny and poignant in the same sentence. If you haven’t read her work, this is a great place to start. * [*Trick Mirror* ](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43126457-trick-mirror)by Jia Tolentino – -contemporary cultural criticism through a tight, intellectual lens. * [*How to Slowly Kill Yourself and Others in America*](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17290919-how-to-slowly-kill-yourself-and-others-in-america?ref=rae_2) by Kiese Laymon — Laymon’s sentences are perfectly crafted and he writes in a way that his insight sneaks up on you to tap you on the shoulder and take your breath away.
