hello, can anybody help me find the title of a book. my grandma told me a story about a family (i think it was) who lived in a mansion. the family made a new compartment in the mansion to hide the jews. in the cellar, they created a new place where they had clothes, new identity. either side of the entrance, they had a wall bricks that came out. the protagonist and her boyfriend has a flower they put in the wall, then could put the bricks back.
they had a labremth. they had roses that were planted all the way around. there was a set. dark, blood red roses. the rose meant the father heart of god.
beside them the neighbour told the german that were hiding people. members of the underground. after the people were found, the mansion became a house for the germans.
after the wall, the girl and the boyfriend went back and found the flowers. they both found they had a white rose.
