My kid loves books. So much so that recently we started reading Kipling’s ”just so stories” during dinner. He was so engaged we decided to start borrowing chapter books like magic treehouse from the library. He likes these but my husband and I find the vocabulary and story dull and lacking in imagination. At a recent trip to the bookstore we discovered My Father’s Dragon and the whole family fell in love. We’re currently waiting for book 2 arrive.
Any suggestions on what to read next that is as whimsical and age appropriate as MFD?
We considered Charlotte’s Web or Dahl, but worry those are a bit too old. Our son is not yet four, making this a bit tricky.
