So I think I finally got my mother to understand our childhood trauma. We’re a blended family of 5 kids; all adult children except for one that’s 17.
We’ve all basically kept distance. And they’re coming to a point of “I wish our families were closer” but they caused us all heartache. Emotional damage.
Anywho my mom seems to understand but it’s just her tone and dad is stuck in his ways “I will never change” so maybeeeee there’s a parenting book out there for older parents to understand why their adult children cut ties distance themselves and how they can repair it.
I’m the oldest and I’m over trying to fix everyone maybe a book will be more eye opening. 🤞🏼
