Can anyone suggest a book for my newly retired mother who wants to get back into reading. She worked in a hospital for 40 years and likes anything with a medical setting. All genres welcome other than horror.
* The Emperor of All Maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee
* When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi

I literally just finished reading Bachelorette Number Twelve by Jae. It’s doctor/nurse romance book. The couple are lesbians and there is a sex scene, if she’s chill with that, it’s a really nice story. Definitely not as highbrow as the other recs you’ve gotten so far, but you can’t eat steak for every meal, right?
