Im not on my death bed or anything, but there are too many books for me yo read in one lifetime. Self-help, fiction, nonfiction, nothing is off the table. Preferably your favorite book! Thanks in advance!
I really enjoyed “Lonesome Dove”. Moving 1500+ cattle from south Texas to Montana. Larry is a phenomenal writer. A long read but gets its legs after the first 200 pages. One of the top 5 books I have ever read.

Lonesome Dove.
I’m currently reading the Book Thief and it’s very good as well.

Forget about all the modern best seller recommendations:
Don Quixote of Miguel de Cervantes.

Tinkers, by Paul Harding.
Won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction a while back, and is a wonderful lyrical novel about a guy on his deathbed hallucinating and remembering into the past (jumps into his dad’s POV too a bit). It’s what really got me into reading in the first place after i finished college, and i think it’s particularly appropriate for the prompt (re before you die) because my main take away from the book is that the little moments matter.
when you’re lying on your deathbed you never know what’s going to come back from a whole life of lived experiences, so we should fill those moments with love and compassion as much as we can.
