I just finished reading Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa and I honestly loved it (I'm planning to purchase the sequel for sure)! I think the setting and main characters are what I liked most about it.
I have also read Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata which I really enjoyed. Currently, I am reading Tokyo Ueno Station which is taking a bit more time to get into, but overall I think it is a pleasant read. I'll be finishing it soon and need another book to continue my foray into contemporary Japanese literature, so I welcome any suggestions! (:
