Just found out my son (12) has been texting a girl (younger) things like will you go on a date, but then got creepy with stuff like, and sorry, don't have the record, and in a haze from the school's call, I know where you live, I know your parents, and other untrue and highly inappropriate and potentially dangerous things. This isn't the kind of son I'm trying to raise.
In addition to being grounded from, well, everything for at least a month, he will be reading, I'm not a total monster. But I want him to read books that the story will help him to understand how vile and wrong his behavior is. Talking with him about it is absolutely necessary, of course, but I believe that we can learn how to be good people through story, we can see that we are wrong in the tales we tell each other, its why they exist. And if there are stories that will help him identify with, well, his victim, I think that will help a lot and nip this in the bud now.
Any recommendations? Thank you.
