I've had a really strong craving for fantasy lately and I'm struggling to find a book that piques my interest. Most fantasy books I can find seem to be on the darker side, but I prefer more whimsy and fun. Does anybody know of any fantasy books that made them smile or laugh? Whether that be with good characters or an enjoyable concept?
(Plots about grief or politics are a major no for me but I don't think they'd be in a fun book anyway.)

Piranesi is a wild book with an amazing concept and is truly fantastical. I don’t know about laughing, but it will make you think and put you in a sense of wonder like a dream! It is also a standalone and not that large.
If you’re open to middle grade fantasy, I highly recommend [Nevermoor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/6a6d5ca1-b2f5-47be-828c-018144d3bbc7) by Jessica Townsend! It’s my favorite series even as an adult, and it’s very whimsical, with great worldbuilding and such fun characters.
