So watched the show all the lights we cannot see and it made me order the book I just started it on the first chapter and already love reading but I’d like to continue reading since I haven’t touched a book since I was in prob grade 5 I’m 28 now,my wife’s an avid book lover and I get ideas but she likes books like it ends with us series and other lovey dovey books I like more story,drama,historical, fantasy and true stories I don’t might the lovey dovey stuff but not a story about abuse I read the outsiders and lotr but other then that nothing plz give me suggestions on your fav books

Guy Gavriel Kay is a fav Fantasy author of mine, minimal magic, no elves…Almost historical but not. Fun. Sarantine Mosaic and Lions of Al Rassan are the 2 I’d recommend.
Series….A Song Of Ice and Fire, George RR MArtin, yes unfinished but better than the show and if you must have an ending, well, there IS the shows one. Great books.
Historical…Hild by Nicola Griffith about a girl who advised kings. Much later she became a nun. It is NOT about that, but her life as a kid through to there, advising kings etc.
Or Christian Camerons Knight books? Starting with Chivalry. Note this is not the shining knight being kind type. This is the what they were really like type.

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah – historical fiction set in WW11, focused on 2 sisters and their efforts to survive Nazi occupation of France. Realllllly really good.
