Hi, I'm reading Blood of Elves from the Witcher books. I'm liking the lore like I did for the Witcher comics, but the pacing is slow and there's gendered stuff like girls not being fit enough or Triss teaching Ciri about makeup. Can you suggest me a fantasy with lore for world building, magic, and/or creatures? It doesn't have to have fighting, but I also enjoyed the knight code in The Way of Kings. Also, I don't require a badass woman warrior, just want more balanced representation of people or to hear less of binary stereotypical genders.
I can think of more children's fantasy that I enjoyed than adult fantasy, but here are other fantasies I enjoyed as an adult:
*The Lives of Christopher Chant
*Howl's Moving Castle
*Neverwhere
I'm not a fan of The Kingkiller Chronicles, especially The Wise Man's Fear.
