hey there, i’ve just picked up reading again, and im looking for books which have a detective/murder mystery plot or books which comprise diary entries
so far i’ve read "the seven deaths of evelyn hardcastle" by stuart turton
also by diary entry books i mean books similar to "the girl on the train" by paula hawkins. any genre is okay with me. fiction or non fiction is okay too.

If you’re okay with YA and fantasy, you might like the Beka Cooper books by Tamora Pierce! The first book, Terrier, is one of my favourites (even though the two sequels were a bit disappointing.)

Not diary entries exactly, but The Appeal by Janice Hallett is a mystery in the form of emails, text messages, and other communications.
What about Dracula? It’s epistolary (diary entries, letters, newspaper articles etc), and it’s structured a lot like a mystery. Plus, it’s a great spooky read for October!

You might like The Woman in White!
Check out the Helen Grace series. A series of detective novels following a female detective. The first book is a banger for sure. Eeny Meeny by M. J. Arlidge is the first book from the series. Also, each book can be read seperately, so there is no problem if you don’t feel like reading the entire series.
When it comes to books with diary entries, you may check out Popularity Papers. I have forgotten the author, but it’s a book/series written in a format of diary/journal entries. I also think the books have been adapted into a TV series. PS: this one is not a crime/mystory suggestion.
